INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD THROUGH SCOUTING
WHAT WE OUGHTA THINK OF WORLD , OTHER NATION ; WE GOT OUR PROBLEMS , OUR FAMILY . WHEN WE JOINED SCOUTING PROBALLY THROUGH OUR MID TEEN , THERE WAS A ENVIRONMENT TO LOOK UPON AS WE GROW . WE LEARNED TO MAKE FRIENDS , WE WENT TO CAMPS , WORKED TOGETHER FOR EACH OTHER AND OTHERS , IF THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH , WE RESPECTED EACH OTHER , OUR ORDIAL WAS SAME , BEFORE WE EVEN NOTICED , WE WERE FOLLOWING FOURTH POINT OF SCOUT LAW EMBEDDED IN THE HEART , MIND AND SOUL – “ A SCOUT IS FRIEND TO ALL BROTHER TO EVERY OTHER SCOUT “ IN THOSE SWEET WORDS WE CALL “ BROTHERHOOD “
THERE IT WAS BROTHERHOOD , WHAT SCOUTING TOUGHT US WAS THAT “ IF A SCOUT MEETS ANOTHER SCOUT , EVEN THOUGH STRANGER TO HIM , HE MUST SPEAK TO HIM AND HELP HIM IN THE WAY HE CAN , NO MATTER HE IS A POOR RICH ON OF ANY SOCIO STATUS “ .
THIS PUTS US IN THE ZONE OF NOT BEING A “SNOB” - HOW OFTEN A SCOUT LOOKS DOWN UPON OTHER PERSON BECAUSE HE IS NOT OF OUR SOCIAL STATUS . HOW OFTEN A SCOUT FINDS SOME ONE AND MAKES THE BEST OUT OF HIM . LIKE A KIM BOY SCOUT WHO WAS CALLED UPON BY THE RED INDIANS AS THE “ FRIEND OF ALL THE WORLD “ BY INTERPRETING THE CHOICE OF OUR QUALITIES AND VIEW TOWARDS OTHER PEOPLE , WE CAN EARN THE STATUS GIVEN TO OUR LITTLE KIM .
SO WE HAD FOUND OUR SELF IN THE STATE OF BROTHERHOOD WITH OUR FELLOW SCOUTS , WE SERVED COMMUNITY , WITH FUN AND ALL THE HELP BY OUR BROTHERS . WE WENT TREKKING , CLIMED ROCKS , EDUCATED OURSELFS , READ SCOUTING FOR BOYS . NOW I GET A QUESTION ; WHAT IS THIS ALL THIS INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD ? , SCOUTS OF THE WORLD ? , IS’NT BEING A SCOUT OF OUR NSO NOT ENOUGH ? .
EIGHT YEARS BACK WHEN WE WERE INVESTED AS A RECRUITS IN OUR GROUP , I LEARNED SOMETHING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF SCOUT LAW , OUR LEADER ; CHIEF OF THE WORLD - BADEN POWELL , INSTATED TEN POINTS ABOUT THE LAW IN THE PUBLICATION OF SCOUTING FOR BOYS 1908 . IT IS KNOW THAT BADENPOWELL DREW INSPIRATION FROM ‘ERNEST THOMPSON SETON ‘ , WHO FOUND ‘WOOD CRAFT INDIANS IN 1902’ AND WENT ON TO SPREAD THE SCOUTING IN THE NORTHERN AMERICA . IS THAT IT? , NO! . THERE WAS ‘BUSHIDO CODE’ OF THE JAPANESE SAMURAI , THE LAWS OF HONOUR FROM AMERICAL INDIANS , THE CODE OF CHIVALRY OR EUROPEAN KNIGHTS , THE ‘ZULU WARRIORS’ , WHO FOUGHT AGAINST THE BP IN AFRICA .
LETS COME BACK TO THE POINT , WHY INTERNATIONAL BROTHER HOOD ?
WE HAVE SEEN A LOT ABOUT THE COPENHAGEN SUMMIT TILL NOW, FIGHTING FOR A CHANGE ,FIGHTING AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING ALL OVER WORLD
THERE WAS A BIG CONCERN ABOUT POVERY AND MALNUTRITION OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS , NOT ONLY MY COUNTRY ‘INDIA’ , THERE WAS ‘AFRICA’ ‘BANGLA’ , ‘MEXICO’ , AND IT CONTINUES ALL OVER WORLD
AIDS HAVE SPREAD VERY FAST , MORE THAN HUNDRED THOUSAND YOUTH AFFECTED , ALL OVER WORLD
COMMUNAL VOILENCE , WAR , TERRORISM HAS SPEARD HAS CURRUPTED MINDS HAS SCARED INNOCENCENT ALL OVER THE WORLD
WE SEE THE OCCURANCE OF THE WORD “ ALL OVER THE WORLD” AGAIN AND AGAIN . JUST MY COMMUNITY , MY COUNTRY MY ‘BROTHERS’ ARE NOT ALL OVER THE WORLD .
AS SCOUTS WE HAVE ONE LAW , ONE PROMISE , ONE WORLD . AS I MENTIONED, THE LAW WE CONCIDER ARE NOT ONE NATIONS , PERSONS OR ORGANISATIONS IDEALOGY . THEY ALL SAY THE SAME FOURTH POINT . WE AS A SCOUTS ENJOY THE PRIVILAGE OF INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD .
AS A PART OF LARGEST UNIFORMED ORGANISATION , BE IT COPENHAGGEN OR EARTH HOUR . SCOUTS ARE THERE . OUR BROTHERS ARE THERE . WHERE A NO DIPLOMAT CAN REACH , A ARMY CAN SHOW UP . SCOUTS ARE CHANGING LIFE AND CREATING BETTER WORLD . WORLD JAMBOREE’S , JAMBOREE OR AIR AND INTERNET , WORLD SUMMITS , INTERNATIONAL RALLIES , ARE THE PLATFORMS OF VARIOUS GROUPS TO MEET . TO CREATE A NEW LEVEL OF INTERGRATION AND UNDERSTANDING UNDER INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD
TO THE WORLD – “FROM THE WORLD YOU CAME AT THE CALL OF MY HORNS TO THIS GREAT GATHERING OF THIS GREAT GATHERING OF FELLOWSHIP AND BROTHERHOOD”

what can we expect from the burning fossil fuels
Many of the effects of global warming have been well-documented. It is the precise extent that is difficult to predict.
Predicting the consequences of global warming is one of the really difficult tasks for the world’s climate researchers. Firstly, because the natural processes that cause precipitation, storms, increases in sea level and other expected effects of global warming are dependent on many different factors. Secondly, because it is difficult to predict the size of the emissions of greenhouse gases in the coming decades, as this is determined to a great extent by political decisions and technological breakthroughs.
Many of the effects of global warming have been well-documented, and observations from real life are very much consistent with earlier predictions. It is the precise extent that is difficult to predict. Among the effects that can be predicted are:
More droughts and more flooding:
When the weather gets warmer, evaporation from both land and sea increases. This can cause drought in areas of the world where the increased evaporation is not compensated for by more precipitation. The extra water vapor in the atmosphere has to fall again as extra precipitation, which can cause flooding other places in the world.
Less ice and snow:
Glaciers are shrinking rapidly at present. The trend is for the ice to melt faster than estimated in the IPCC’s latest report. In areas that are dependent on melt water from mountain areas, this can cause drought and a lack of drinking water. According to the IPCC, up to a sixth of the world’s population lives in areas that will be affected by this.
More extreme weather incidents:
The warmer climate will most probably cause more heatwaves, more cases of heavy rainfall and also possibly an increase in the number and/or severity of storms.
Rising sea level:
The sea level rises for two reasons. Partly because of the melting ice and snow, and partly because of the thermal expansion of the sea. Thermal expansion takes a long time, but even an increase in temperature of two degrees Celsius is expected, in due time, to cause a rise in the water level of almost a metre.
In order to get an idea of the extent of the consequences, researchers typically work with scenarios that show various possible developments.

WRITERS BLock
its almost been a adventure for now ,for what had been a mail for entries for a essay writing compitation, i was always ready for that kind of a thing ,when we know what we care about the most, we tend to do it well,i've always liked environment , for what i've watched a thousand seminars , programs , read articles , i really have to say it loud and clear , 've soo much to say , but i suffer from a block, and is all what i can think about the world which suffers from the abuse and people's reluctant for it
Pretend it doesn't happen
look away
you can't afford to yell or
have your say
they have the law behind them
and the right
and where can we find nerve to
stand and fight?
It's easy to look elsewhere
turn your head
afraid to ask the questions
arms outspread
to ask the reasons why they
want it all
we hear the forest cry and
watch it fall.
Be strong. Raise up your hand and
join the crowd
send out your voice of protest
shout it loud
we must preserve the ground on
which we tread
one day you may remember
what I've said.
(fyi poems from greame king )
world is not for us
a gift
to use and twist
and throw
is a loan for us to
remember
we will have kids to
show
the beast and beauty
the water and the snow

November thingala Kannada Premi

Yes this phrase is not original ; taken from radio conversation.
Living in Bangalore the capital of the Kannada speaking region of India, we might have seen the flags hoisted , on masts , Auto rickshaw , City taxis and lot .
Jai karnataka ! ; said my friend ; who insisted on speaking English after that. A very patriotic fellow mate said he would write his vehicle number plate it kannada numerals ,a new stage is erected to showcase the strong hold of authority to celebrate kannada in there locals , a celebrity arrives at stage to show his causes for the regional tongue , plays the best songs he has sung, go near town hall ; preferably ravindrakalakshetra , you can witness a local dance been performed for different occasion, dollu kunita as called , master hirannayya decorates the stage with best of the kannada dialects he can put up on the stage ,and many more performances performed free , and tribute to Annavaru , a stamp is released , all the setu's of "north" promises more recognition for the kannada speaking "madrasi" , proud kannada sanga's of US boast there language's international hold ............
And many more . . . .
All this happens for the one month , one day , one moment of the day in any kannadiga's year , its good for the kannada .
cause thousands attempts to review any part of our life without heart, can be done by small intervention with small liking from eternity.
that's what we do

Socialism is a failure
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

CLImb
Sunday ; in the group there was an explanation to my blog . Well, i feel guilty to make some one read it with advertising . " Climb" because we are going on a trek . As every time kiran questioned his usual doubts of a uses of going .
Climb is a every life's tough part . But view is good from top always . It can get the tough out of you , but the parts you cherish after that are simply superb . this may be the reason some poet say . i'M no poet .
" God created life " , don't believe that life created it self . It grew with the surrounding . Body made it self a Brain to live . Brain made itself a harmone to order . Order became chaos ones the brain stoped adopting to surrounding and started to change the environment itself .
There are no natural predators of man . Its like we are filled with the all the remedies to face , with no problem . Remedies may act when not required . Face problem in Contained environment .
FREAK OUT !!!

"kannada barutha"
Aaaah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is Kannada Barutha? Here it goes. Bangalore, the IT capital of India, the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47 per cent of original inhabitants in Bangalore/Bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing SLV’s, classy eat outs replacing Vidyarthi Bhavans and flashy pubs replacing all our Mahalakshmi wine shops.
Change is inevitable from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to Infosys, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any Bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of Lal Bagh, rave idli and coffee.. at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh or central talkies. Today’s Bangalore is deluged in traffic, stress and pressure, Saturday nights without beer is desolate and a Sunday without a visit to either a nearest spa or health clinic is schlocky!! The Gandhibazars are now AC cooled super markets, Majestic is now replaced by ultra modern and diversified Brigade road, Sri Cauvery coffee joint is now Coffee Day..* and Bhagyalakshmi Coffee Adda.. is now Barista. With globalisation and more retail market the city will definitely see more forceful changes.
Have all these changed our language? Kannada the local language of Bangalore is supposed to be one of the most meaningful languages, it also has an unique script as compared to its other counterparts; but what percentage of people really use Kannada in Bangalore now? The figures are staggering, only 37 per cent of people speak Kannada in the state’s capital, for the rest it is only ‘Kannada Barutha?’
Any normal guy starts with this sentence ‘Kannada Barutha?’ while talking to other person, people confirm before they speak the language. You want to ask an address in Bangalore or reply to a question, then English is the most preferred language other than Hindi. It’s a famous fact that two Kannidagas in an IT company always talk in a neutral language!! even the vendors and shop keepers are channelled with this new wave, the moment when you step in any shop in Bangalore, you are always asked ‘Kannada Barutha?’ or the entire conversation takes place in non-Kannada languages. People have lost confidence about speaking in the local language and moreover speaking Kannada on the streets of M G Road or Koramangala is substandard.
Shopping malls in the city have been completely banned from using Kannada, not a forced one but definitely an adapted one. One has to confirm that the other person knows the language before he starts using any language. ‘Ondu glass beer’ is a insult when it comes to any decorous pub in Bangalore. ‘Swalpa menu card kodthira..??’ has been replaced by ‘Can I have the menu card please?’
Just to hit some facts, Marathi is still the largest and common speaking language in Mumbai even though Mumbai has the highest number of inhabitants. Telugu is a practised ritual in yet another IT hub Hyderabad. When it comes to Tamil Nadu, beware you can be alive either if you are a fan of Rajnikanth or you know Tamil. Malyalam runs in the blood of every Mallu be it Kuwait, Dubai or any hospital; Now some international cities like Paris French is the preferred language, technically advanced countries like Germany its Deut she , Korea its only Korean… though there brands Samsung and Hyundai rules Indian markets but when it comes to Kannada it is always ‘Kannada Barutha?’ and next is ‘Namaskara.’ I am neither a Kannada activist nor do I run any Kannada supporting organisation, I am just a plebeian who loves the language.
Globalisation is the trend and modernisation is the mantra but at the cost the language? Sounds no logic.. Is speaking Kannada down market? The answer has to be found within oneself. Next time when you hear ‘Kannada Barutha?’ you just remember that Kannada runs in your blood..
Speak Kannada Save Kannada it’s the most beautiful Language I have come across in my life…..
Cheers

Big plannings

To start with Bangalore is been a darling , good breez , suttle sunshine , small showers. What else can you ask of a city . Ha ha , laugh is for Sharath and sagar making sure that they invite somelot to join our quest to valley of flowers , i'm planning of some more of exploration in Delhi and Jammu. Even planning to go on an expedition to forest to Hunsur ,with "Rangers". Planned to go to A camp, but failed in vain. lot of planning more to come ...
Playing tough to execute this whole thing in midst of all the commotions .
WoW Pakistan WoN
Yunis said they were a under dog in the tournament, he had been saying he played for the country and want to win the game to get cheers for all the war going on, Sanga said the same . I think cricket donated itself to war and peace . Pak might had a greater war hence a greater WIN.

Madhu's words
Well Well Well !!!!! 3 Posts and lot of thoughts put in... Speaking about the small hillock, moving from there to mantapa, scouts to rovers a lot, lot and a lot has changed with times but the motivation levels has not changed may be with a few exceptions..... It is really disheartening to see a drifting change like Vivek points out "one who used to search reasons to be in scouting are searching reasons to be out of it” May be they have got all the fruits out of scouting and feel there is no need to develop a second line. I have always said Personal Prejudice should never be a part of scouting culture……So its time Guys to move on with all the skill and Maturity you have acquired over the years and enjoy Scouting . I hope to write more in the coming days. Right now I am at the Suncheon Asia Pacific Scout Centre and discharging my duties as a Camp Counselor in setting up this world class center which is due for opening sometime in July.
Happy Scouting Guys!!!!!!!!
