INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD THROUGH SCOUTING
WHAT WE OUGHTA THINK OF WORLD , OTHER NATION ; WE GOT OUR PROBLEMS , OUR FAMILY . WHEN WE JOINED SCOUTING PROBALLY THROUGH OUR MID TEEN , THERE WAS A ENVIRONMENT TO LOOK UPON AS WE GROW . WE LEARNED TO MAKE FRIENDS , WE WENT TO CAMPS , WORKED TOGETHER FOR EACH OTHER AND OTHERS , IF THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH , WE RESPECTED EACH OTHER , OUR ORDIAL WAS SAME , BEFORE WE EVEN NOTICED , WE WERE FOLLOWING FOURTH POINT OF SCOUT LAW EMBEDDED IN THE HEART , MIND AND SOUL – “ A SCOUT IS FRIEND TO ALL BROTHER TO EVERY OTHER SCOUT “ IN THOSE SWEET WORDS WE CALL “ BROTHERHOOD “
THERE IT WAS BROTHERHOOD , WHAT SCOUTING TOUGHT US WAS THAT “ IF A SCOUT MEETS ANOTHER SCOUT , EVEN THOUGH STRANGER TO HIM , HE MUST SPEAK TO HIM AND HELP HIM IN THE WAY HE CAN , NO MATTER HE IS A POOR RICH ON OF ANY SOCIO STATUS “ .
THIS PUTS US IN THE ZONE OF NOT BEING A “SNOB” - HOW OFTEN A SCOUT LOOKS DOWN UPON OTHER PERSON BECAUSE HE IS NOT OF OUR SOCIAL STATUS . HOW OFTEN A SCOUT FINDS SOME ONE AND MAKES THE BEST OUT OF HIM . LIKE A KIM BOY SCOUT WHO WAS CALLED UPON BY THE RED INDIANS AS THE “ FRIEND OF ALL THE WORLD “ BY INTERPRETING THE CHOICE OF OUR QUALITIES AND VIEW TOWARDS OTHER PEOPLE , WE CAN EARN THE STATUS GIVEN TO OUR LITTLE KIM .
SO WE HAD FOUND OUR SELF IN THE STATE OF BROTHERHOOD WITH OUR FELLOW SCOUTS , WE SERVED COMMUNITY , WITH FUN AND ALL THE HELP BY OUR BROTHERS . WE WENT TREKKING , CLIMED ROCKS , EDUCATED OURSELFS , READ SCOUTING FOR BOYS . NOW I GET A QUESTION ; WHAT IS THIS ALL THIS INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD ? , SCOUTS OF THE WORLD ? , IS’NT BEING A SCOUT OF OUR NSO NOT ENOUGH ? .
EIGHT YEARS BACK WHEN WE WERE INVESTED AS A RECRUITS IN OUR GROUP , I LEARNED SOMETHING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF SCOUT LAW , OUR LEADER ; CHIEF OF THE WORLD - BADEN POWELL , INSTATED TEN POINTS ABOUT THE LAW IN THE PUBLICATION OF SCOUTING FOR BOYS 1908 . IT IS KNOW THAT BADENPOWELL DREW INSPIRATION FROM ‘ERNEST THOMPSON SETON ‘ , WHO FOUND ‘WOOD CRAFT INDIANS IN 1902’ AND WENT ON TO SPREAD THE SCOUTING IN THE NORTHERN AMERICA . IS THAT IT? , NO! . THERE WAS ‘BUSHIDO CODE’ OF THE JAPANESE SAMURAI , THE LAWS OF HONOUR FROM AMERICAL INDIANS , THE CODE OF CHIVALRY OR EUROPEAN KNIGHTS , THE ‘ZULU WARRIORS’ , WHO FOUGHT AGAINST THE BP IN AFRICA .
LETS COME BACK TO THE POINT , WHY INTERNATIONAL BROTHER HOOD ?
WE HAVE SEEN A LOT ABOUT THE COPENHAGEN SUMMIT TILL NOW, FIGHTING FOR A CHANGE ,FIGHTING AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING ALL OVER WORLD
THERE WAS A BIG CONCERN ABOUT POVERY AND MALNUTRITION OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS , NOT ONLY MY COUNTRY ‘INDIA’ , THERE WAS ‘AFRICA’ ‘BANGLA’ , ‘MEXICO’ , AND IT CONTINUES ALL OVER WORLD
AIDS HAVE SPREAD VERY FAST , MORE THAN HUNDRED THOUSAND YOUTH AFFECTED , ALL OVER WORLD
COMMUNAL VOILENCE , WAR , TERRORISM HAS SPEARD HAS CURRUPTED MINDS HAS SCARED INNOCENCENT ALL OVER THE WORLD
WE SEE THE OCCURANCE OF THE WORD “ ALL OVER THE WORLD” AGAIN AND AGAIN . JUST MY COMMUNITY , MY COUNTRY MY ‘BROTHERS’ ARE NOT ALL OVER THE WORLD .
AS SCOUTS WE HAVE ONE LAW , ONE PROMISE , ONE WORLD . AS I MENTIONED, THE LAW WE CONCIDER ARE NOT ONE NATIONS , PERSONS OR ORGANISATIONS IDEALOGY . THEY ALL SAY THE SAME FOURTH POINT . WE AS A SCOUTS ENJOY THE PRIVILAGE OF INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD .
AS A PART OF LARGEST UNIFORMED ORGANISATION , BE IT COPENHAGGEN OR EARTH HOUR . SCOUTS ARE THERE . OUR BROTHERS ARE THERE . WHERE A NO DIPLOMAT CAN REACH , A ARMY CAN SHOW UP . SCOUTS ARE CHANGING LIFE AND CREATING BETTER WORLD . WORLD JAMBOREE’S , JAMBOREE OR AIR AND INTERNET , WORLD SUMMITS , INTERNATIONAL RALLIES , ARE THE PLATFORMS OF VARIOUS GROUPS TO MEET . TO CREATE A NEW LEVEL OF INTERGRATION AND UNDERSTANDING UNDER INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD
TO THE WORLD – “FROM THE WORLD YOU CAME AT THE CALL OF MY HORNS TO THIS GREAT GATHERING OF THIS GREAT GATHERING OF FELLOWSHIP AND BROTHERHOOD”

what can we expect from the burning fossil fuels
Many of the effects of global warming have been well-documented. It is the precise extent that is difficult to predict.
Predicting the consequences of global warming is one of the really difficult tasks for the world’s climate researchers. Firstly, because the natural processes that cause precipitation, storms, increases in sea level and other expected effects of global warming are dependent on many different factors. Secondly, because it is difficult to predict the size of the emissions of greenhouse gases in the coming decades, as this is determined to a great extent by political decisions and technological breakthroughs.
Many of the effects of global warming have been well-documented, and observations from real life are very much consistent with earlier predictions. It is the precise extent that is difficult to predict. Among the effects that can be predicted are:
More droughts and more flooding:
When the weather gets warmer, evaporation from both land and sea increases. This can cause drought in areas of the world where the increased evaporation is not compensated for by more precipitation. The extra water vapor in the atmosphere has to fall again as extra precipitation, which can cause flooding other places in the world.
Less ice and snow:
Glaciers are shrinking rapidly at present. The trend is for the ice to melt faster than estimated in the IPCC’s latest report. In areas that are dependent on melt water from mountain areas, this can cause drought and a lack of drinking water. According to the IPCC, up to a sixth of the world’s population lives in areas that will be affected by this.
More extreme weather incidents:
The warmer climate will most probably cause more heatwaves, more cases of heavy rainfall and also possibly an increase in the number and/or severity of storms.
Rising sea level:
The sea level rises for two reasons. Partly because of the melting ice and snow, and partly because of the thermal expansion of the sea. Thermal expansion takes a long time, but even an increase in temperature of two degrees Celsius is expected, in due time, to cause a rise in the water level of almost a metre.
In order to get an idea of the extent of the consequences, researchers typically work with scenarios that show various possible developments.
